C70 Front End Grinding Clunk
Have a 2004 C70 HT. Recently have a very bad clunking coming from the left front end, most noticable on a left hand turn under speed or load. Sounds more serious than just a wheel bearing. Does anyone know what this may be or how to determine what the problem or part may be to inspect? The feel in the steering is a clunk clunk rather than a smooth grind like a bad break caliper or bearing. Thanks in advance.

I would check lower control arms, swaybar end links, and upper spring seat.

RE: C70 Front End Grinding Clunk
Thanks! I did check all of these, took off the front tires this am. Ran car with no wheels on, used a stethiscope and listened to the axles. The left front has a noticable thump on each rotation more noticable at the caliper. Brakes also need to be replaced with only about 1/16 left on left. I listened to the R side, same noise but nearly as loud. Bad axle, bearing, normal, other? Thanks again in advance.

RE: C70 Front End Grinding Clunk
FYI car only has 30K miles, seems a bit early for new axles

RE: C70 Front End Grinding Clunk
Maybe wheel bearing but that would make a pretty loud humming noise starting at about 30 MPH.
