1991 240 Front end noise

Good Morning All,

New to the boards here - I am working on my daughter's 1991 240 station wagon, and have recently had installed a FCP suspension kit (ball joints, tie rod ends, control arm bushing, stabilizer bar link) after also having installed strut mounts and new struts. (with alignment)

I only have the sway bar bushings to replace at this point -

The car is driving much better, however any sharp bumps at speed (pothole, or poorly repaired potholes) I am still hearing a decisive metallic clunk from the front left (possibly right). Slow bumps such as speed bumps, or dips do not make the noise.

What else could it be / should I be looking at?

Any ideas or thoughts would be helpful.

Strut mounts may do that...

That happened to me
Found that the issue was the top nut for the struts, they were loose, allowing the strut to move up and down about half an inch.
slow bumps didn't seem to make the noise either, only the fast ones...i think because the rebound rate of the spring was so much faster than the strut, but if its slow then it can move at the same speed as the strut.

It seems that even if you torque them down properly off of the car, they settle a bit more after as little as a mile or so.

Jack up the car and make sure they are snug, I used a pipe wrench to get them as tight as I could.

*Correction GLAND nut* not the top nut
