1994 940 speaker question
 

Hello, for my 1994 940 I am redoing the entire speaker system in the car I have by passed the amp already. The problem that I am having is that I want to power the rear deck and front door speakers with a 4 channel amp in the truck with after market speakers. I can't figure out how the tweeters and front door speakers are connected. I want to power the tweeters with the stereo which has 15 rms. How can I separate the tweeters from the doors and could some one send me the wiring diagram? Any recommendations are appreciated Thanks

my 1992 came with wires in the front doors but no speakers... the front doors, and rear speakers all went to the factory amp connector, while the dash tweeters went to the factory stereo connector... I wired in external crossovers for the front door and dash tweeters (using a component 2-way system).

they changed something after 1992, tho, I'm not sure what exactly.

anyways, this is how my 92 was wired.

color - aftermarket stereo wire colors... (color) - volvo wiring

notes: Dash speakers on connector D to radio
Door speakers on connector E to amplifier under driver side dash

In front, I used component speakers with crossovers, tweeters in dash, woofers in front doors, in back I used coaxials

Left front crossover:Right front crossover:
left rearright rear
power etc on main stereo connector D
** don’t connect these, they are for the factory dashboard light dimmer, and no stereo I’ve ever installed can use these correctly
