1994 940 T Engine Died at Stop Sign

While driving 1994, 940 Turbo I came came to a stop sign, I hit the brake to stop, but when I released the brake and hit the accelerator the engine died. Started the car agian, drove one mile to another stop sign, hit the brake to stop, and when I released the brake and hit the accelerator the engine died again. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

what RPM is it idling at? (I'm assuming a 940T has a tach)

is the idle steady? if it doesn't stall, and you're driving, does it have normal power? can you roll on the throttle and let it get some boost going, and does it pull strongly up to the redline?

I'd inspect all the vacuum hoses and if any look cracked or sketchy, I think I'd go ahead replace all of them as bad vacuum can cause all sorts of drivability problems.

There's just way too many possilbities to know what else to suggest without a lot more info. Have you checked the LH2.4 OBD codes? see Engine and OBD Diagnostic Codes

here's a whole lotta more stuff to check: Engine Tune and Performance

Thanks Pierce.

The idle RPM is 500 to 600 RPM but at full stop it drops suddenly to 200 RPM then it climbs back up to 600 RPM. Then it repeats this process. Someone mentioned to replace or clean the Mass Air Flow sensor. This car is 9640 Turbo and has 272K miles.
