Default 240 engine stalls

Good morning VF. My 87 240 DL is having a perplexing issue. While driving the engine will lose all power, no acceration or revs at all, but it usually does this for about 3-7 seconds and then kicks back in as long as I keep my foot on the gas. I started about 2 weeks ago at an almost unnoticable occurance for less than a second and then got worse. It started about 5-7 days after I cleaned the MAF and regapped my spark plugs to see if that would fix a cold start issue I was having, which it did, but I was under the impression I had possibly messed up the positioning of the fourth plug and that was causing the problem because it didn't seem to be lining up correctly in reference to the others. I readjusted it but ended up putting in a worse position, which made the stalling worse. I adjusted it again to what seems perfect and the problem went away for a full day of driving but came back with same force as before and continued to get more frequent. The plugs and wires are about 2 years old, the distributor about 1 year, fuel pressure regulator and MAF about 11 months old.
I thought it might be the fuel pump relay also but I replaced that with a brand new one and it didn't change anything. Could it be the ignition coil? It starts fine, idles fine at startups and stops lights, and only really does it after the car warms up good, except for when the plug was in super incorrectly and yesterday.

trying to figure out what you mean by 'positioning of spark plug' ? was it cross threaded?

It had been, at some point before I got it, but the proper threading is still pretty intact and usable when placed at the hole correctly.

It's either my hall sensor or the harness connecting to it.
"But I thought your distributor was fairly new?"
Reman so possibly a horrible job
