Default 240 torque rod bolts

My daughters 1993 limped home with both torque rods disconnected from the frame. Upon close inspection, both bolts had FALLEN out! It is a 1993 240 sedan and I would just go get the bolts if I knew the size. Any information would be a great help!

Thanks!

This has got to be a first! Not even sure what "torque rods" these are but if they are connected to the frame AND have both fallen off, something weird is going on. Did you just have them worked per chance? Only scenario I can think of Volvo suspension parts "falling off"...
Better post a picture.

A first for me too! Sorry, they are the rear rods that go from the axle to the frame. Yes, I did have them changed well over a tear ago. Guess they need to recalibrate their wrench. Anyway, I was looking for the bolt size so I can head down to the local parts place or just wait till Monday and see what the dealer can do!

pretty sure those are some special bolts.

lets see. VADIS says the ones that attach the torque arms to the rear axle are 965196 'flange screw' plus 971099 'flange lock nut'. on the frame side, there's a subframe assembly which has its own 2 bolts to the rear trailing arm pivot and frame, but the bolt that holds the torque arm to that bracket is 965196, nut not shown (must be welded to the frame?)

Still, both "falling off" at the same time? Do you know what the probabilities of that are? Gotta be pretty astronomical. I bet some nefarious foul play was involved at some point...

Just went to the dealer and ordered the two bolts. They thread into the frame so no nuts. Does anyone have the torque spec for the bolts?

As for the conspiracy theory, I am thinking the neighborhood cats..........

hmm, the greenbook on 240 rear suspension calls those 'reaction rods'. says to install it but not tighten, then bounce the car on the suspension and let it settle, then torque them to 85 Nm (65 ft-lbs) front and rear.
