Does anyone know if any of the other Volvo model seats will fit in the 240? My drives seat is breaking down and I don't have the tools (or the patience) to rebuild it. I know that all the seats from 75-93 will fit the same mounts, but the kicker is I need preferably burgundy, or I could use black. I would like to find a matched pair of drivers and passengers side, but I could do one at a time. However, if there are seats from another model that would fit, they might be an easier find at the junkyard. The car they are going into is a 1979 244DL. Thanks!

 

You can fit 740 front and back seats in a 240. The front seats of the 740's needs everything on the bottom (complete seat bracket) removed then you have to fit the seat brackets from the 240 seats on the 740 seats. Requires welding, you can take it to a shop and have them put the brackets on for really cheap, like 15 bucks. The back seat from the 740 needs to be cut to fit. Hard to explain but if you had one you would see.

With the 740 seats though you lose a interior volume cus the seals are bigger. Also mid 80's BMW seats fit, and so do early 80's benz seats fit. Really you can make any seat fit.
