87 240GL Dead Injectors
I have an 1987 240GL with a 1991 b230f. One day as i drove to work it stalled out on me. I could'nt get it to start back up. After letting it sit most of the day i went back and it started right up.I managed to drive it home. It has'nt started since. I have spark from the coil. I have spark at the plugs. I have fuel and pressure at the motor. The car will rev up with staring fluid. There is no current at the injector connectors with ignition on. Do the injectors have a relay. If they do, where is it? What should I check? Any Ideas?

It is under the right side of the dash behind the glove box.

To amplify Bill's response... The main relay, or fuel pump relay, supplies power to the fuel pump and to the injectors. It is located on the firewall above the passenger's right foot. But it's behind the glove box which must be removed. Look for a white plastic box about 1" by 2". It helps to have long arms to get at it.

Are we talking about two different relays or the same one. Which one is the white one behind the glove box and which one is above the right foot of the driver?

RE: 87 240GL Dead Injectors
My apologies, goldbrick. Forget what I said about the firewall, the passenger's right foot, and the white relay.
Bill's answer, "It is under the right side of the dash behind the glove box.", is complete and I should not have butt in. |
RE: 87 240GL Dead Injectors
Thank you guys. I think I found the culprit. I pulled the relay apart and the springs were rusty inside the relay. I'll replace it.
