87 244 fuses
 

My 240 will pop fuse 8 as soon as the negative battery terminal is connected, time and time again. (I am using the correct fuse per the owners manual) There are a lot of things connected to fuse 8 and I was wondering if anyone else had this problem or had any suggestions on how to find the problem- my guess is its some relay or light but I don't know how to test for that.

What is listed as being on that fuse?

Interior light, glove box light, trunk light, engine compartment light, central locking, and the electric radio antenna

more likely, its a wiring insulation failure, shorting to the chassis. i'd check the wiring on the trunk hinge, thats a common failure place, or the central locking wiring at the drivers door
