91 940T Wagon - 18MPG in City?
Should this be alarming? Been watching the mileage on the 940T wagon and I'm getting roughly 18-20MPG per fill.
I've done the basic tune-up with oil change, new spark plugs, air filter... What else is there?! Or could just be the 4Cylinder hauling the weight + me lol. |
18-20 mpg in city is not bad at all... The turbos are rather fuelish. They are EPA rated at 17 city, 20 hwy.

Seriously? PHEW. I thought something was horribly wrong.
|
Update: On 5w40 Rotella T6 and Shell VPower 91, I get 24mpg (US) on the highway.
Pretty good! |
Not bad! You should be able to beat the EPA ratings if you really try.
Put some 45lbs of air in the tires, it really helps too... I get 40 mpg out of my 2001 VW Passat with 1.8t and 5 speed, much higher than rated. |
A/C on? I can see it.
