92 Turbo Wagon Suspension Lowering

Ive been working on my car for about a year now and would like to lower it. Im fitting some V70R wheels on it but have yet to find a manufacturer that sells any lowering parts for my car. (92' Turbo Wagon 740).

Can anyone post me a link or list some companies that sell the parts i need.
Thanks:D

Check out some of the sticky threads here. Here's one https://volvoforums.com/forum/volvo-240-740-940-12/faqs-rwd-owners-post-links-please-34821/, look at post #6 for Cbevis's choices for suspension mods.

are you lowering it to try and improve the handling, or purely for cosmetic reasons?

IPDusa sells sport springs that will lower the car a little, and when matched to the right shocks and their swaybars improve handling immensely.

btw, you do know, those FWD rims have the wrong offset for a RWD volvo? you'll need to put them on spacers or they will likely scrape and/or not steer right.

yeah i know they don't fit. I just cant stay away from them. Thanks for info. + links.

Im getting them mainly for cosmetic purposes but this is my daily driver not one of my projects so i dont want it to destroy my ride quality.

well, when you put a car on shorter springs, they have to be stiffer because you don't have as far to go before you bottom out. and a stiffer spring has to be matched to a stiffer shock. I'd say check out the IPDusa.com sport springs http://www.ipdusa.com/Volvo-700/Susp...ng/c-1-70-195/ says they lower 1.75" in front and 1.25" in back.

I'd also suggest this lower brace: http://www.ipdusa.com/Volvo-700/Susp.../p-70-195-803/

and this swaybar: http://www.ipdusa.com/version.asp?st...D=195&V_ID=783

shocks are rather a matter of personal taste, but hardly anyone on this board will ever recommend kyb or monroes. you'll find enthusiasts for konis, bilsteins, and some who like the sachs/boge turbogas. me, I'm putting the bilstein touring shocks on my wagon, but I want a plush ride and I'm not lowering it.

setup right, this will give you great handling, moderate lowering, and still a nice ride.

Do it... I got the TME versions on the 745t, which have a desent ride height. the Billstein HD's are great. sure you feel a little more of the road, but honestly, it is not bad.

ride quality is one of those things you have to feel and compare for yourself, becuase everyone has a different opinion.

My 240 has a more serious suspension (almost full race), and it still rides pretty good on the roads.
