940 OEM Key Blanks
I don't have a factory master for my 93 940T and it annoys me.
The 2 Ilco copies I have seem to be made out of crap metal. Does anybody know where I can get real Volvo blanks for less than an arm and a leg? |
Ebay...
Nuff said |
Those are the same kind the guy handed me when I bought my 240, so I feel your pain. I looked on eBay once and I think I ran across some for Volvo's. They were not specific to any model, but they looked big and square. I passed them up because they did not look appealing, nor was I sure they were the right kind. I have also considered just getting a cover with Volvo on it but that is just as hard to find. I would just checkup on eBay periodically, and If you find them somewhere else, drop me a link please. ;)

I've been checking eBay for the past 8 months.
The only OEM looking ones are made in Thailand, which gives me no confidence in the manufacturing. |

Oh wait. You're looking for 940 key blanks. Sorry.
|
940 are the same as 740...

It's looking like I am out of luck on OEM key blanks.
Am I in a similar situation with getting a remote? (original is gone) |

Does anybody know where I can get real Volvo blanks for less than an arm and a leg? note you can't cut those stainless steel keys on a regular key cutter, they have to be cut on a special machine. This same locksmith also has the milling cutter for those 850/960 sidecut keys. those cost extra to cut. if you're anywhere near Santa Cruz, Cal... Give Brass Key in Scotts Valley a shout.. |
