Alternator and Power Steering question

Two questions (and it's a 1993 240 Wagon non-turbo).

1) The pressure power steering hose. I believe mine had a tiny leak just above the banjo bolt, so it probably needs replacing but my question is it has a big metal "clamp" thing on it that looks like it should clamp something down but doesn't really fit anywhere, could that help fix my leak? It's a solid two piece metal thing that then has a hose clamp that you tighten down.

2) Getting ready to put the timing belt back on and was I turned the alternator by hand and when I spin it, it wobbles. Hard to quantify how much but it is very noticeable. Is there something simple inside that just needs replacing or is the whole thing shot? Might as well figure it out before I put it all back in place.

1. Probably won't work.
2. Alternators are simple but a wobble like that is a shot bearing. Can be rebuilt or get a used one.

I am assuming that the clamp is't Volvo specific so I'm not sure where it came from. Probably someone trying to do a quick fix.

I pulled the alternator off and for what it's worth the brushes we unevenly worn, the one was a good 7 or 8 mm shorter, I going to assume again that isn't normal and could possible be from the wobble? Also of note, before I started this rebuild project I wasn't having any alternator issues, just some light dimming when you hit the window switch and stuff like that.

Heading to the pick n pull tomorrow, yeah for me!!!! Hopefully the alternator I saw last time is still there an I know a couple power steering hoses were there. See what else I can find, me likey likey.

I was just replacing my rack over the weekend and I'm not sure the purpose of the "clamp" thing. It looks like a weight more than anything as it consists of two steel halves that the clamp holds together. It won't help to stop any leaks.

If you need to replace this hose I would look in the junkyard as the price on FCP web site is around $175.
