Battery hold down?
I have a 1990 740 NA, it has no battery strap or hold down bracket. is there supposed to be one? thanks.

Yes, it has one. Or should have one... A plate that is secured to the base with a long rod.

euro batteries are clamped by a flange on the bottom of the group 48/49 batteries, middle of the long sides. usually the back of the battery is slid into a fixed clip, and the front has the screw-down clamp that holds it in place.
here's the clamp, https://www.ipdusa.com/products/7709...-volvo-1316365 not finding it right now, but thats held down with this long bolt that has a 'eye' on the top for turning it, and has a flange down by the threads that clamps that plate down. |
