Hello everybody, putting Bilstein front struts on my 1988 245DL and the gland nut only goes on about half way down the threads. Does this seem right to anyone else? I don't see a spacer in the tube and I am not using one. Any wisdom would be appreciated.

 

My bentley manual says to tighten until just snug.

 

I had the same condition with our 740 when I changed the struts. Looking at the nuts and the strut there is a slight difference which is not a problem. Just tighten down the nut and it will be OK.

 

Thanks a lot for the feedback fellow Volvo nuts, I will give it a go today. The temp here in Colorado has not been cooperating at all the last few days but we are suppose to get up to a balmy 40 degrees today.
