Bolt missing from diff stabiliser

Help,

My wife's 1995 940 B230FK had a big noise start in the rear of the car upon accelerating from a light .

Upon inspection at home, I noticed the stabiliser arm connected to the diff body was loose -- missing a large bolt. I believe it is an M12 (18 mm head). I've attached two photos -- one of the 940 with the missing bolt, the second of our other car, a 1991 745 B230FB.

Can someone tell me what bolt I need to buy to replace it? I need the car back on the road asap.

thanks

I wonder how that bolt got away?
Just get a bolt and a nut that size from Ace, the head looks smaller than 18mm but just put a wrench on it to make sure. Easy, since you have the car right there.

my volvo parts catalog (VADIS) says, thats volvo PN 966367, and describes it at as a 'flange screw'. the one on the top torque rod has the same PN. US volvo parts web dealers suggest its a $5 dealer part, and its interchangable with PN 982873

Thank you very much (both of you) for your kind assistance. I am now able to purchase a M14x100 flange bolt at my local store (Adelaide Australia) and get back on the road.

sheared torque rod bolt (diff)

This is what happened to the bolt. It snapped at the diff housing.

whoa. I'm pretty sure that's a hardened bolt, although I don't know what grade.

that pair of bars transmits all the power of the car to the chassis, its effectively pushing your car down the road. the main swing arms aren't thrust bearings.
