Continuing Fuse #16 problem
Here's a problem the previous owner never had, and I can't find an answer in the searching here or on general Googling.
1984 245T If I run the headlamps while the door is open and the door alarm is chiming, running or not, fuse #16 blows. It's an 8A fuse, and I have no idea what to check. Fairly frustrating. Any thoughts out there would be appreciated like you would not believe. |
Found some comments on other threads I didn't see last time I looked. It's a symptom of a direct short somewhere. Looks like it might have been the dash clock of all things, the ground connector was broken off and one of the other connectors was barely hanging on. Fresh connector on now, and I _think_ it's fixed. Time (hah hah) will tell.
Another question, only related 'cause now I'm looking for electrical oddities, it's about the front passenger door light switch. Driver side has one wire to each connection, it works fine. Passenger side, the dome light never comes on, someone slapped the connector on two wires and plugged it onto one of the connectors. Is that right? Or was someone trying a hack of some kind? |

Moved your post to the 240 section where it's more likely to be seen by other owners and get some attention. . |
the drivers door has two separate switches, one for the delay timer, the other doors have just a single switch, I believe the two wires are for daisy chaining the front and rear door switches.
