DIY reset service/check engine light
I did this myself and I am a girl !
1-turn ignition key on, but do not start
2-disconnect the negative (-) battery cable
3-wait 3 minutes
4-turn ignition key off
5-start your car
The lights may not be off immediately. My check engine light is out. My service light stays lit for 30 seconds.

Welcome to the forum.
No reason why a girl can't do things like this. I know several who do all their own maintenance and one who changed an engine with only a little help. I think it's great.
Which model and year of Volvo do you have?
