driveshaft disconnect

I will be towing my 1993 940 behind my motorhome. I have to disconnect the driveshaft from the differential so I don't wreck the tranny. What is the simplest way to do this. I do not need to disconnect from the tranny just the rear end.

You can just take the bolts off at the diff, but what about the other end? Make sure it is secured... and mark it the way it goes....

The driveshaft is in two pieces. As Lev said, disconnect at the differential - 4 bolts. After that, the rear portion of the drive shaft should slide out by pulling it towards the rear of the car. You can then stow the rear portion in the trunk. The front portion can stay.

Before you disassemble, make alignment marks on the front & rear shaft pieces so that you put it back exactly the same way. If you don't align them properly when re-assembling you will end up with drive train vibrations. I would also make alignment marks where it bolts to the differential as well.
