Informational website
Can someone point me in the direction of a good general Volvo informational website? I looked up auto.consumerguide.com and they don't list my 740 under 1992.
Aaaalso, what is with the variances in the model numbers? i.e. 740/744? |

Swift listed davebarton.com, and there are a few more links there to some good places for parts, both replacement and custom. FCP Groton is great for good prices for OEM stuff.
In general here's how Volvo's numbering system worked when they were making the 200 thru 900 series: 745 The first digit is the car series, in this case 7 The second is the standard engine, 4cyl the last is the number of doors, 5 (station wagon) 242 is a 200 series with a standard 4cyl and a coupe body. In the 80's Volvo started leaving off the last digit on the car, but the car's configuration number still carried it. Then there are other exceptions to the rules. Life would be too easy without exceptions. |
