My car makes a horrible clunk at times when shifting from 1st to 2nd?!?! It is an automatic transmission and does not do it all the time. I have heard that worn rear shock absorbers sometimes cause this to happen as they are cashed!!!! The sound is definantly coming from the rear of car and not from where the tranny is. Shifts very smooth except for low speed 1st into 2nd???

The bushings in the rear torque arms might be bad.
