Need Help 245 DL rear brake light stopped working

I have a 91 245
New tail lights about a year ago
working fine til stuck in traffic in NYC on way back from visiting son and stop and go traffic for about 2 hours. Brake light on rear passenger side stopped working. I tried changing the bulb to no avail. Ground is solid. Please offer suggestions

Left brake light and 3rd light work fine but no right side

Should mention that wires under tailgate hinges were all replaced several years ago a
wondering if the stop and go traffic had anything to do with failed brake light that is if light heated up excessively etc
Does anyone have any comments/suggestions/troubleshooting recommendations????

Is this a topic that is all too common i.e. electrical gremlins that folks don't want to tackle?

Well. I don’t really DO electronics... but i would have to start looking at the wires in your case.

Do you have a volt meter to check the continuity (sp?) in the wires that run to the tails?

Also it’s been said that the circuit boards in the 240s can break causing tail lights not to work.

any obvious burnt looking spots on the boards, or breaks? Any freyed wires that may have shorted out?

Sorry i cant be more help.

Thanks for reply Regime

I do not see any frayed wires and tailgate wires replaced some time ago
In fact tail lights are new
Only the top light, brake light, doesn't work
all others are OK

I don't have a continuity tester and it really has me stumped
