Hello everyone. 1992 240 GL in pristine condition. LOVE THE CAR! I purchased her for $500 to keep miles off of my Infiniti G35 coupe, but enjoy driving her everyday. Great car!

Wow, five hundred dollars? I paid that much for a rusty '75 model with a ruined driver's seat. And it was barely running.
|
I was definitely lucky. :D

Sweet Deal....
Post up some pics? |
How come everyone finds deals like that for a few hundred dollars and I can't seem to find that! Ditto on posting pics! Welcome.....

I just went out and took these. It is dirty right now. I took it fishing last week and used the hood as a table for my portable grill. :D

I was blown away by how excellent it is. The interior is near mint. I took it to Best Buy and had them install a new head unit and four new speakers. Sound is great and I can use my ipod. I do have a problem though. The cigarette lighter doesn't work. I went through all of the fuses and cleaned them up and replaced one that was shot but no luck. As I was going through them, I must have moved one to a spot where the corrosion was in the way of the contacts because it wouldn't start. :D I fixed the problem, but the fuses/fuse carriers seem to be extremely temperamental. Any ideas on the cigarette lighter? I would really like to use my GPS system in the little gem.

Also, I believe the horn doesn't work either.
|
NICE CAR!!!! How were you able to pick up such a clean car for 500 bucks!
|
It was a case of being in the right place at the right time. I purchased it from the original owner. Every receipt for all work done, never been in an accident, non-smoker, etc. Great deal.

No cigarette lighter and no horn? Wow, I guess it's not really pristine after all. ;)
Just kidding...it looks really nice. I've found cars for more money where the seller warns you to bring a trailer because the car can't be driven. |
Holy cow, what a deal. how many miles? and BTW the wiring is not the 240s' strongest point. My kids biggest issue is their toys off the lighter. it starts with the ipod, then the GPS next the whole laptop for DVDs on trips and the inverter, then grows from there. After a while I just installed a (fused) home run to the battery and avoided the headaches.
Oh... and the sales tax and tags on their '92 240 was more than you paid for your whole car. |
