I do have the missing trim pieces, found the rocker trim at the pick and pull yesterday. Should have the rubber one on tomorrow and the rocker on as soon as the clips arrive!

Big box of parts arrived yesterday from FCP, so I'm cautiously off to the driveway to start wrenching. This will be my first timing belt replacement. Thankfully I also opted to purchase the manual.

Ten hours work, plus an hour in town for parts. (I am not a fast mechanic) New timing belt, tensioner, (My impact driver died, so the seals will have to wait) New water pump, all new V-belts, new hoses. I managed to time it 180* off and had to take it apart again.
I also got the new plug wires on. Hope to get the oil changed and the exhaust manifold gaskets done this weekend. But for now everything is rolling smoothly along.

Your own personal yard? 
Changed the taillights out today, made a heck of a difference. Also replaced a couple bulbs and chased away the orange warning light. While I was back there I changed out the liftgate struts the P.O. gave me. Also put the new air cleaner in. New plugs, cap, rotor, and an oil change come tomorrow.
I'm going to do my best to give this car the fanatical maintenance that it's obviously been denied.
Next things I have to find are rear headrests, (Missing) a radio antenna (Broken), and some headlight lenses (Fogged).
Then at some point pick up the blue book and start learning how to change a timing belt and replace some seals.

Already found them, painted them, (Ones I found were tan) and stuck them back in. This car had the holes for them, so I figured they should be there. $5 for the pair was a pretty darn good deal anyhow.
Next week I'm heading back to the pick and pull to look for interior parts.

All the stuff that I am finding out is usually broken/missing. Console, lower B pillar covers , grab bar end caps. Misc stuff like that. And the plastic backing for the tailgate handle.
Also need to get a skidplate and the upper timing belt cover.

Sounds like you need another 240 for parts, you'll waste your money at a yard. Maybe we should split a parts 240 huh?

Knowing myself, I'd take whatever was left and make a car out of it.
One of the yards up there is real reasonable. The one with some Volvo's in it.
If the 245 keeps going along like it is, I might try and find a 244DL Sedan in the spring, hack it together enough to be safe and reliable, and drive it wile a friend of mine repaints the 245.

Still rolling along and tinkering with the 245, waiting on my finances to recover before the next parts order goes out to FCP. I need to get a skid plate, upper timing cover and a new fan clutch, among a few other things.
My Dad, who has forgotten more about machinery than I will ever know thinks the slightly annoying tick is valve train noise rather than an exhaust leak. So I'll just be living with it for the time being.
I never did find a radio antenna in the yards. Have to break down and buy one new.

Hmmm... I don't know if I'm too crazy about those caps you have on, but I don't think it's in the right light. I like the setting you're in though, perfect for the wagon. But pictures just don't compare to being there in person. Were you going to hit the junk yards again, or did you get everything you needed? I finally have some time off.

I need to get up north and scout out some more junkyards, do you ever get a day off on a weekday or just weekends. I'm up at Owens three days a week for classes.
