NO FUEL AT RAIL
I have an 86 240DL SW last week it left me stuck in a parking lot overnight. The next day before i had to tow it I had checked to see if i was getting fuel. I pulled the the fuel line at the rail and was getting no fuel to the rail. After I had got it home I started checking fuses and grounds all fuses seem to be ok. so i replaced the relay and tried jumping fuses 4 and 6 and still got nothing. SoI took a jumper wire directly from the battery to the main pump and it started right up. Pulled the jumper off and it died in a second or two.i reconnected the fuel pump and it started a half of dozen before it went back to a no start condition. Now i am at a complete lossany help would be appricated.

RE: NO FUEL AT RAIL
BTW I CHECKED FOR POWER AT THE RELAY AND HAD 11.5 VOLTS. CHECKED THE FUSE BLOCK AND HAD 10.9. AND AT THE CONNECTOR FOR THE MAIN FUEL PUMP THE FIRST TIME I CHECKED I HAD -000.5 THE NEXT TIME I CHECKED IT I HAD 005.4 IT WORKED WHEN THIS LITTLE AMOUNT OF VOLTAGE WAS PRESENT THEN DIED CHECKED AGAIN AND IT WAS BOUNCING BETWEEN 13 AND 2 VOLTS.

RE: NO FUEL AT RAIL
NOW I AM HAVING OTHER PROBLEMS AS WELL. NOW MY STARTER SOLENOID IS ENGAGING BUT NOT SPINNING. I TRIED TO JUMP THE STARTER FROM THE BATTERY AND GOT IT TO TURN A LITTLE BIT BUT NOT ENOUGH TO TURN IT ALL THE WAY OVER. I AM PRETTY SURE I AM HAVING WIRING ISSUES. I KNOW THAT IPD HAS A ENGINE WIRING REPAIR HARNESS. HAS ANY BODY EVER HAD SIMILER PROBLEMS OR REPLACED THIS HARNESS IF SO DID IT FIX IT AND HOW DIFFICULT WAS IT TO REPLACE?

RE: NO FUEL AT RAIL
Almost all 240's have wiring problems.
Harness is time consuming to install. |
