Seat swap. Manual to power. Is wiring under carpet. ‘93 940T wagon
I have a ‘93 940 turbo wagon with heated seats but power on the driver side only. I just saw a ‘94 940 sedan at the junkyard today with power seat on the passenger side. Is the wiring harness for power seats present in my vehicle, hidden under the carpet perhaps? Or am I looking at having to run my own wires to the fuse box?
if I need to run wires, any suggestions on how to do this would be greatly appreciated. I’m a novice at wiring. The seat is in great shape and matches my interior so Please let me know quickly before another junk yard rat snags it. Thanks! jeff |
I don't believe 940 ever came with passenger power seat, 960 did; may be your donor is a 960?
No matter, it's easy to install in a manual seat car even so there is no direct plug in. Get the seat and try to get all the wiring, (the plug at the base and the wire as far in as possible even as far as it plugs into the next juncture). It's Ok if you have to cut it before. Installing it, run the + wire and plug it in the + side of the fuse box into the Power Seat slot already there which powers the driver's seat. The -- terminal, the ground can be attached anywhere on the chassis, I think I used the emergency brake ground last time, easy... |
Thanks, I'll give it a try!
