Default Difficult high/low beam switch...

It's difficult changing the brightness of the headlights on my car, a 1992 240. At first it was just plain difficult, now it barely works. It takes multiple attempts yanking on the switch. The switch clicks as though it should work. Just a side note, I was messing with it last night and I'm pretty much always able to change brightness if I turn the blinker on. Think I need a new switch? Or can something be done to the switch to perhaps help it? After some research, I've learned it could be the step relay? Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!
Evan

indeed, ti could be the switch, the step relay, or the wiring. only way to know for sure would be some electrical tests and inspecting the switch. Sometimes old switches can be cleaned and will work for another 10 years.

Alright. My money is on the switch, since it works when I have the blinker turned on. I'll start with cleaning it. How would I go about cleaning the thing?

careful disassembly, flush it out with circuit cleaner spray (NOT the electric motor spray)

I removed it from the car, but saw no good way to disassemble it. So, I stuck the spray straw in there and went to town. It worked! It'll work for now anyhow... Hard telling when it might stop again.

I'd get another switch, plenty of them in the JYs, and cheap... Or Ebay.

Yeah, when I do get one it'll probably be from ebay.
