testing an idle motor
First, thanks to all who helped me locate the flame trap, which, had it been a snake.......[:@]
So, throttle body and idle motor cleaned, flame trap replaced. New plugs, cap and rotor. Runs like a champ at highway speeds. However, idle is still a problem. It's still very low, often killing the engine. After the test drive, idle was cycling, every 5 seconds or so, between low and too high. So, on a chance, I unplugged the connector from the idle motor. It idles perfectly. So, am I doing any damage running with it disconnected? Is there any way to test an idle motor? Monty |
RE: testing an idle motor
If it runs good with it unplugged then the throttle body might not be adjusted properly.
