hmmm, looks like IPD doesn't have their custom fit velour covers anymore... I put those on our 240 about 10 years ago and they are still holding up fine.
there's a bunch of online places that will MAKE custom-fit covers cut to fit your car out of a wide range of fabrics

will putting covers on my seats stop them from cracking and foam falling apart?

for sure, the factory vinyl seats were really durable. all of our volvos have been leather. it wears out in 10-20 years.
if the foam is failing, the best thing is to repair it before covering, perhaps replace some of it, before putting the covers on. if its still intact, you can put the custom covers over the old upholstery, or you can remove it, your choice. ditto any broken springs or wires, repair them first, then cover.
