Volvo 940 Radial Arm Bushings?

Hey, I own a 1993 940 Volvo non-turbo, and I just got my car back from being inspected. They told me my Radial arm bushings need to be replaced, along with a few other things. I'm not really clear on what a radial arm is though. How can I identify exactly what part this is? I've read elsewhere that the radial arm is the control arm, which I'm not sure what that is either, but can I get some confirmation on that?

Is the part the same on other other models of volvo such as 240 or 740? I'm going to be going to the junk yard tomorrow so I'm trying to figure out cars I can take from. Or would it be easier to just get the bushings separately and install them on my car? I couldn't find the bushings at any of my local auto parts stores. I think NAPA may have had just the upper bushings, but I'm unsure.

I also need to take everything on an exhaust, catalytic converter and back. Any advice on what is going to match my car would be great as well.

Well, personally, I'd have the work done elsewhere. Any mechanic that calls a control arm a radius arm is er...less than ideal. Assuming they were looking at the front end, it was most likely the control arm bushings to which they referred. Bushings are a wear item, not something to get at the jy. Try fcpgroton.com One of our sponsors too. They have decent prices. Below is a picture of the control arm. This is taken from below the car and is the passenger front corner of the car. It is the large "L" shaped item in the center of the pic. To the right it connects to the subframe and also to the rear, so 2 bushings per side.

they may have been talking about the "radius" arm bushings... here in north carolina, I've heard them called several different names... they also could have been talking about the strut rod bushings....
