Default Volvo cold start after 6 years

Beautiful Misty you're a fine girl. The picture has nothing to do with my issue my fellow enthusiasts. What I have happening now is I will be driving along and for no reason, with my foot on the accelerator, all of a sudden there's no acceleration and it's a pause that has taken up to five seconds and then it resumes accelerating or should I say resumes power. She has never done this while I was going uphill and needed the power it has only happened when I'm cruising along. Help me my brothers!

did you have to start 3 separate threads on this??

what year is it ? there's a couple different fuel injection systems.

one candidate would be a flakey fuel pump relay. or really any sort of loose connection, cracked wiring insulation, etc.

Thank you for responding Pierce. Sorry for the numerous threads. Anyways she is a 1985 and I will check the fuel pump relay and the wiring hopefully that's it! As always members of The Forum I am grateful for your advice, you in particular Pierce this isn't the first time. Thank you

85 has LH2.2 electronic fuel injection, and is in the middle of the 'biodegradable' aka 'ecojunk' wiring years (80 to midyear 87). under the black sheaths, much of the engine compartment wiring likely has insulation thats cracking and flaking off, unless the harnesses have been replaced. the more you mess with the harnesses, the worse it will likely get.

luckily, Dave Barton is making replacement harnesses for these cars,

and the ignition harness

for sure, read this whole page carefully
