Volvo front end tools.... and wiring harnesses
Hi all,
I may inherit a low mileage '85 stick wagon. The owner, a friend of mine, is tired of pouring money into it (he doesn't work on cars). I think it may just need a new wiring harness, and it needs bushings.
I've never tried front end work. In Bentley, they list some Volvo tools that are needed for doing bushings. Do I need to track these down, or has anyone fabricated their own tools for this job?
Also: has anyone ever tried to source the Bosch connectors and build their own harness?

Which front bushings?
Which front bushings?
If I get the car, it will be something I can work on at my leisure, so I thought about just doing the whole thing: all bushings, ball joints, etc.
Nice car, though. 132K, pristine inerior. Here's a photo; it's the yellow one, aka "The Putty Wagon" (along with my blue '90 and my son's '83 stick wagon).

It looks pretty nice body wise.
If you do the big bushing on the back of the control arm it is pretty easy just hammer the old one out and new one in.

The only tools I've used so far are a pickle fork and 4 lb hammer,
oh yeh , a 24 inch breaker bar with univ' 1/2 drive.
A hacksaw for the broken sway bar link too.
The rear bushing is another story.
