Water from tailpipe volvo 240
I started the car for the first time in about a week today just to warm it up. When I got out there was a pool of water directly under the tailpipe maybe a cup but no more. I smell it and tasted a bit on my finger tip and it was just water. Its been raining a lot here the past couple day 2-3 inches. Is this normal?

yes...
|
It is normal. You know there is H2O among the exhaust gas.
|
But it is head gasket if the water comes out like a stream.

However, generally, the majority of the moisture is not combustion by-product but rather condensation from within the exhaust. Now...aren't you glad we didn't all tell you possums pee in tail pipes?

Call me weird but I stop short of tasting my cars by products. I feel, look, sniff...do not taste.

So what you guys are saying it... If I'm out in the middle of the ocean, and out of water, I can start my car and catch the moisture that falls from my tail pipe and survive? I wonder if Survivor Man knows this? He can get water from his tail pipe. LMAO!!!
