Weird 240 problem. . . PLEASE HELP!

I have a 1985 240GL that won't run. This car is my baby and my only means of transportation. It has never missed a beat as long as I've owned it. . . .until the other day when it just completely died doing 60mph on the highway. No sputtering. No warning. After tinkering under the hood for about ten minutes trying to figure out what the heck had just happened, I got back in the car and turned the key. It fired right up, so I figured I must have wiggled the right wire or something under the hood. I got back on the highway and made it about an eigth of a mile before it did the same thing. All this happened about 150 miles from any service shop, so a $600 tow later and my baby is sitting in my driveway dead. I've changed the fuel filter and checked the fuel pump and it is working fine, so I'm at a loss for where to look next. It definitely seems to be getting spark, as I can repeatedly get it to fire for a few rotations before it dies. Please help! I've already missed one day of work because of this and can't afford to take it to the shop after paying that tow bill. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe it is a speed sensor or a fuel pump relay that is bad.

My 940 died in the same manner and was getting spark and fuel.

Turned out to be a shredded timing belt that was just hanging on.

Installed the new belt and it runs perfectly.

Remove your timing belt cover and take a look.

Master control relay, bad solder joints, passenger side, just below dash line and above footwell. Two relays soldered to a board if I recall properly. One controls fuel pump, can't remember what the other does.
