Weird Switch In 85 245

Hey, I picked up this 85 245 wagon and I found some weird switch in it.
when I hit it I can hear a weird change in idle. I just wanted to see if anyone knew what it could be before I tear it apart to see what it is.

maybe to turn on/off the a/c compressor?
