Wheel Vibration?

1990 240DL Sedan

Around 38 - 42 mph, I can feel a vibration (but not through the steering wheel) as if one of the front wheels is wobbling back and forth. It seems to go away if I am going slower or faster.

I did hit a snow bank during the winter and tour off the apron on the front bumper. This problem seems to have started around then.

Any thoughts as to what it might be? Bent rim or ??

Possible you could have a bent rim.... try running the spare tire or a nother set of rims...Check it to see if you can see any sign of the wheel being bent..

Try jacking up the car. then push and pull at the top and bottom of the wheel. If you have some play in it.....Could be a bad strut or other suspension piece....
It is probably a bad wheel bearing....

Wait for others to respond....

definitely not a wheel bearing or suspension piece when they get messed up they do something weird all the time. If it's a wheel bearing it will have a wubba wubba sound and it would be louder when turning in one direction over the other. Suspension will clunk around regardless of speed. You probably threw a weight off your wheel or shifted a belt in the tire. Make sure your lugnuts are tight too. Take your car to a shop and have them balance all your wheels. Tell them that you feel a vibration, and at what speed.
