why no spark on the 240?
1992 240 has no spark. The coil checks o.k new cap rotor. If the coil is o.k what else do i need to check? Thanks Ron

does this 1992 have bosch ezk or regina/rex ignition? afaik, they came both ways.
see if there's pulses at the input to the power stage when the car turns over. is there power at the hot side of the coil when the ignition is switched on ? |
Whats the best way to tell which ignition? Coil checked at .9. With a test light and ignition switch on everything comes up hot on coil (light on the test light)
Thank you for the help!!!!! Ron |
cleaned some connections changed #6 fuse!
Back on the road!!!!!! GOT LUCKY I GUESS ! Thank you for the help pierce! |
If any of your fuses look grey rather than silver, or even just anyways on principles, I would replace ALL of them with copper/brass european ceramic fuses. the "Buss" fuse stuff sold in the US is JUNK.
go to ebay, and look for someone selling "Mercedes W124" fuses, they will sell a kit with enough fuses to do 2 cars probably. replace ALL your fuses with these, clean the inside of fuse holder spring contacts with a pink pencil eraser as you go. http://www.ebay.com/sch/sis.html?_nk...ramic+Fuse+Set see this MBCluster.com Mercedes W140 Instrument Cluster Repair Homepage for an example of why. I've taken seemingly good silver/tin fuses out of volvos and had the end caps turn to dust. |
