Volvo changed the suspension on the 900 series to use the same rim offset as the 850 in 1995. Of course, the only 900 series left at that point was the 960, so that's not going to help you any. Parts stores will have spacers... but spacers alone aren't going to get your wheels out far enough to keep handling where it should be- they'll move the wheel out enough that it doesn't rub, but it will still be in too far, which will play havoc with handling, and may even make it dangerous to drive. To get 850 wheels to stick out far enough, you'd have to use spacers to 20mm- that's 2 cm! That would require extra, extra- long lug studs, and even then, it would put WAY too much stress on your wheel bearings, because the load axis will have been moved outward too much. As for your rims being bent... get second and third opinions. That's one of the favorite explanations for trouble that tire people offer. They'll often "prove it" by spinning the tire on the car, and showing you how it wobbles. But quite often, the tire is simply mis- mounted, or has a flat spot, or the brake rotor is warped, or there's a little piece of dirt stuck between the rim and hub, etc. Is it a "bent" flange that won't seal? maybe so... or there's some junk caught between the rim and tire/ damage to the tire bead. Some tire people know this, but use it as an excuse to get you to buy new, "custom" wheels from them. Others- most- are simply ignorant, and assume a bent rim is the cause of a customer's complaint, without ACTUALLY checking the wheel itself. Did your troubles start after hitting a pothole or something? That CAN cause a bent rim... but it usually damages the tire internally first.
