Will c30 wheels fit on my 92 240?
Hey everyone newbie,
I just purchased a 1992 240 sedan in great shape with only 100000 miles. Looking to put snow tires on. I have 225,45r17 blizzaks, do you think I could mount them on c30 wheels and would they fit on the car? let me know thanks |
nope, sorry. While the RWDs may have the same bolt pattern the FWD and AWD cars use a different offset. Typically the RWDs are ET25 and the FWDs are ET50 (give or take). That'll move the centerline of the rim (and edges) inward about 1 inch when you mount on the 240.

17" wheels with /45 tires will also give your 240 a nasty harsh ride. its suspension was optimized for the stock 14" wheels with /70 tires.
if they are indeed ET50, you /could/ use 25mm spacers to bring them back out, but spacers are a pain to deal with when you mount/unmount the rims from the car. |
The wheels are only $75 for the 4. One rim is bent a little and still hold air, ect. Are there any other models you recommend looking for?

the only direct fit wheels will be 240, 740, 940, 760 and pre-facelift 960 (I think the facelift was in 1993 or 1994?) the 240 wheels are mostly 14", the 740/940 ones mostly 15, which an occasional 16" such as the Hydra (used on select turbos).

Pierce, thank you for the research. I found the same site and inquired about wheels, but they only had 25 spoke available at that time. I did call the local Discount Tire on a whim and they said they can get steel replacements for around 65 bucks each. I don't want aftermarket aluminum as I like the OEM style better. I think I will be ordering the steel rims as they are the same size as what I have on the car now.
I found that steel rims weigh about 17 pounds each, but have not found anything other than guesses for the 25 spoke aluminum rim. Anyone have a real weight on one? |
