Wire stripped = problem

Hi guys,
I want to install a USB power strip that is powered even when the car isn't turned on or in accessory (I want it wired to the battery). After asking around someone told me the best way to do this was to use the yellow wire going into the car stereo, as it is always powered. I stripped a small section ( I never cut it or shorted it) and now the radio wont even turn on and neither will the interior lights for some reason. When I switch on the lights, the beeping noise happens, like when you have your door open while the key is in accessory. The radio is also just completely not turning on. Please help. I'm not very experienced with cars and I have no idea what I've done. Thank you in advance!

Edit: It's a 1992 740 Turbo Wagon (not sure if that will help)

Check the radio fuse, back of radio, and the fuse in the fuse tray. Look at the diagram to see which one it is.

Do you need a radio code to activate this radio.

on a 740, I would get a ATC 'add-a-fuse', like this, and plug it in place of an existing 'always' powered' fuse, such as fuse 5 (clock, etc), putting the existing fuse in the lower slot of the add-a-fuse, and a new fuse for your external load in the upper slot, then connect the USB thing to the wire off this 'add-a-fuse'.

as far as undoing what damage you did, its hard to say, maybe you yanked too hard on the wire when trying to strip it and loosened a harness connector deeper under the dash.

It turned out to be the fuse lol. Thanks
