Default Won’t Run Right

I just put a new fuel filter on my 1986 240 Gl. It's like it's a computer limiting it. It won't go over 3,000 rpms, and is real jumpy when it takes off. And when i give it full gas it just stops.

Sounds like maybe MAF Sensor. Try unplugging it and if the engine smooths out than it is the MAF sensor and needs replacing. Cheap for b230f motors but expensive for b23f motors

Hi I noticed a response from EROCK198 's concerning a MAF sensor. I recently broke down on a freeway from Newcastle to Sydney(Australia). Almost 2 weeks ago the mechanic hasn't been able to fix the car. It starts OK and it will rev if you feather the accelerator. As soon as you select drive(it is auto) and touch accelerator it stalls. The mechanic has tried air mass meter/fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator and is now looking at the computer(fuel). Any suggestions? Would EROCK198 receive this also.('86 240 fuel injected)</P>
