1989 760 Turbo Wagon 3?
Having a couple problems with my (new to me 89 760 turbo wagon).
first: Service light came on today, and I just did a service last month. I know this is just a reminder light, so how do I get rid of the light manually?
Second: I want to pick up a code reader online for this vehicle (I have a OBDII reader for my chev van, but wont work on this for sure). I need to know what type of reader I need to get and where is the plug located for this.
Third: just recently, my head lights dont want to come on all the time when I start the engine (yes, the light switch is always on) Sometimes I have to drive a little or switch my high beams on then off to make them come on.
Any Ideas would be great........Help TECH Pls.

RE: 1989 760 Turbo Wagon 3?
89 760??? They don't have OBDII. I don't even think they had OBDI in 89 Volvos. So not sure about a reader.
Not sure about the lights. Maybe the connectors are bent.
There is a little rubber plug in the cluster. you take out the plug and push in the button to reset the light.
It is the left plug:

I have a OBDII Reader for another vehicle, I know it wont work on this one, what I wanted to know is what kind of device can I buy to read the codes without having to pay the 75.00 at the dealer.
for the lights, I dont think its a bent plug....more like a relay problem,,,but thats why im asking.
Thanks for the pic...will reset in the morning...do i need to do anything with the key,,,,,or is it just as simple as pushing the button...lol

Sorry the pic is of a 91 so your dash will look different, so i am not exactly sure where the button is.
Iput my key to the 2nd postion. thenI push the button.
1 Voltmeter (Turbo models)
2 Fuel gauge
3 Clock reset ****
4 Quartz crystal clock
5 Speedometer
6 Trip odometer *
7 Trip odometer reset ****
8 Odometer
9 Tachometer
10 Instrument panel lamps rheostat
11 Temperature gauge
12 Boost gauge (Turbo models)
Not sure about a reader, maybe someone else could help you.
For the lights, you could look at these fuses (you have to remove the ashtray by pulling up on the tab and lift it out):
17 High beam (left) 15
18 High beam (right), extra lights 15
19 Low beam (left) 15
20 Low beam (right) 15

There is adapters so you can use some OBDII scanners but I think they are only made to work with Volvo scanners.
But you don't need anything to read OBDI here is how you do it.

I agree on the headlight switch as well.
