97 960 with A/C problem
My first Volvo also. When the car sits for awhile, either overnight or for a couple of hours, the A/C seems to work good for about 20 minutes then starts blowing warm air.
I took it to the local garage, and they pumped the freon out and then refilled it to the proper level. Drove it home and it did the same thing, after 20 minutes, warm air.
I called them and they told me to bring it back so they would look further for issues. Maybe a sensor??
Anybody have any ideas?

Coil on clutch
I took it back to the garage and they said that the coil behind the clutch was cutting out. Quoted me $542 for new clutch, labor including sucking the freon out & refilling. I asked about a new compressor and they said close to $900 total. It is an independent garage that specializes in Volvo, VW, Audi & Mercedes. They use genuine Volvo parts. I had them change my timing belt, water pump & tensioners with the advice from these forums. I hope the compressor holds on for a few more years.
