'97 960 with plethora of engine codes but runs fine
I bought this car with owner saying it throws engine code for primary o2 sensor and that is it. It runs great, so like a fool I believed him and purchased...but now that I'm borrowing a tool (since I replaced the primary o2 and still have the engine light), I am seeing all the error codes:
First two are: P0443 P0414 For these, my scanner says 'pending'...not sure what that means: P0135 P0141 P0131 P0137 So it's still complaining about the primary o2 sensor, but also the downstream. Could the downstream one still be causing the primary to also read bad? For the first two, from what I read, is an indication that the evap system needs to be looked at. Just looking at the hoses under the hood, someone has changed things around. I wonder if it's even correctly hooked up, is there a diagram anyone has for my model (1997 960)? Thanks for the help! |
There should be a diagram under the hood. The car has a flame trap that should be changed or cleaned out. Have you looked up what the other codes mean?

Hmm...I'll check under the hood...didn't think about that, but I know you are right...didn't think of checking.
Flame trap? Never heard of that, what is it? For the other codes, it is for the primary and secondary o2 sensor. I replaced the primary o2 sensor but still getting codes for both. Not sure why the codes are still showing for the primary but my secondary comes in the mail this week so I'm hoping fixing the secondary one will fix the codes for the primary. :( |
