Default Headlights

Does anyone know the exact reason that the 94' 960 style front fog lights turn off when the highbeams are turned on? If you hold the lever in the highbeam flash position the light output is superior. My best guess would have to be that the cheap american style german headlights are usually made of plastic rather then the european which are made of metal so would they melt if they were on at the same time for an extended period of time? I also have an older Mercedes with the same brand and a very similar setup where the front fog lights stay on with the highbeams on? Just curious if anyone knew

No they turn off because with your highs and fogs it would be really really bright and you would blind oncoming traffic.

Also a law about it too.

It can not be any worse then xenon lights and would blinding peoplenot be the same with just highbeams? Legality aside I was more curious about mechanical limitations and if there is a way to make the fogs stay on with the highbeams on,if it would not damage the system due to heat. There isa law about tint as well S70driveralthough it does not affect other drivers lol...... legality is not my first concern. Also I am not a highbeam fiend that turns them onevery chance I get, but usually when driving home typicallyaround 1 or 1:30am in Connecticut where there are few streetlights but manydeer and the extra visibility is important. Thank you for any imput.

You would have to bypass the entire factory wiring.
