Default How to bleed Volvo 240 Hydraulic clutch master

The hydraulic clutch master cylinder refuses to bleed.
I have replaced the clutch master cylinder and the slave cylinder.
How to bleed the master cylinder. ??? I have tried bleeding the master by
loosening the outlet pipe , I have tried bleeding from the slave cylinder.
250 mls of oil has gone through - no success - pedal goes to the floor
- no resistance - seals are installed correctly - correct oil is used -
- removed the master cylinder and bench tested - will draw oil into the
cylinder from the reservoir - will build up pressure by depressing the
plunger - replaced on car - bled again - no pedal resistance at all -
any ideas how to bleed the system - I have bled many brake systems and a slave cylinder - never had this problem

One more note. I just went through this and it didn't work so well. I did not do the last step of pressing the slave cylinder back, I think that is the problem in this case. Everywhere I have read has really stressed the importance of doing that. I'll tell you how is goes with me.
