Keyless programming issues
Hi All,
So i am at it again trying to get more stuff to work on my volvo. i tried replacing my batterys in my remote and reprogramming it multiple times, and nothing happens. I thought maybe that the remote was no good so i ordered a new one, tried and program it and nothing happens again.....So i am wondering....how do you clear the old remotes from the system to maybe make room? The alarm system works with they key ....I am out of ideas, and cant get through to my local volvo dealership to get an answer

Is this your remote?

This one makes an audible TICK sound when operated. Hold it by your ear and push any button. The sound is deliberate and distinct. If you do not hear it, the cells could be flat.
I recently lost one of my keys. The other key is very worn, it still works but may not be good enough to trace a working duplicate. Yesterday, I ordered a key by VIN from myswedishparts, after tasca refused. They did not reject my order so I am expecting it to be filled this week. I also bought two key blanks, and will have a local locksmith duplicate the new factory key. So, I should end up with two spare keys in the safe and have my pocket key back.

I paid $48 for the key. I expect to see it sometime next week. I won't use a local dealer because I priced them for parts in the past and they wanted way over MSRP. $40 wiper blades etc.
Myswedishparts is Volvo of Dallas, I will let you know how it works when it appears!
I'm not sure what remote is correct for the 96. The remote I linked is the one that came with my '98. I think Cubic_Curiosity has a 96 with a different remote. Unfortunately I don't know how any of them work except for the one I happen to have.
