Need Wiring Diagram: 1996 960 Fuel System

I have a 1996 960 Wagon that is suddenly completely unable to run - I am lucky this happened in my driveway. I believe the fuel system is faulty. The fuel pump relay is working fine, but the pump is not priming or running while cranking. I opened the access port above the tank to listen and feel for the pump while an assistant turned the key to on or start. Nothing at all.

I am not sure of what safety features or other circuitry Volvo may have installed, so I am hesitant to just slap 12V onto the connector in the driver side wheelwell to see if I can enable the pump for a test. I was unable to get a resistance for the coil windings through the pump side of the harness, but I am not sure if that necessarily means the pump's winding are an open circuit.

Does anyone know where I can get a good wiring diagram for the fuel system for my car and also if there are any special procedures for testing the fuel pump?

Thanks!!!

I have what you are looking for, but cannot post here because of the small file size limit.

But will tell you, that the fuel pump does not run until the engine is running.
Once you initially turn the key to ignition on the fuel pump will start and run for no longer than two seconds, mine runs maybe one second. That will pressurize the fuel system and allow the engine to start, then the fuel pump will run. That is a safety feature, so if a fuel line broke and ignition is on, it won't be pumping fuel all over the ground. You can use a jumper to start the pump though.

Thanks for the advice.

I did remove the fuel pump relay and jumper the high current side of the circuit in an attempt to run the pump manually. This did not turn on the pump.

I suppose I am looking at a dead fuel pump, the car has 180k miles so it makes sense with what I am seeing. I'll try once more to feed it 12VDC fused power and measure the coil resistance. I just wanted to have the diagram in case of any special controls that may be in place, if there are none I'll proceed as usual.

I plan on following this procedure: http://www.volvoclub.org.uk/faq/Fuel...eplacement.htm

My son has a 850 turbo wagon. Every 15 minute or so the a/c compressor will lose power. I am looking for a wiring diagram to trace the problem. Can anybody help. Audi

Check the fuel pump inertia/cutoff switch. Should be in the trunk somewhere.
