Default Passenger front seat

hey all,
I bought my 93 960 about three years ago and am slowly working the bugs out. My latest is to tackle the non working passenger side front seat. do any of you have any hints about troubleshooting why it could be locked all the way back with no motion in any direction? I would like to have some steps before I start replacing parts.

thanks.

Is there any movement? Does the motor make a click?

What usually happens is the motor cable slips out of the gear mechanism on the seat rail for one side, this makes the seat move on one track until it binds up.

There is plenty of info with some searching on that repair. But it is not unheard of to have a bad switch be the problem too.

no movement. no sound. I was going to remove the seat and start checking voltages to determine if the controller was gone or if I had any electrical at all. Seems like if it was the switch at least one of the functions would work. I will try the motor cable and electrical connections.
thanks.

I have experienced problems with the switches on my car if they have not been used in a while. They get kind of sticky, thinking that there is internal corrosion of some sort. Toggling the switch many times gets them to work, maybe you are lucky and that is all that it is?

I have a passenger seat that moves on one track until it binds up. You mention that there is plenty of info with some searching on that repair.
Where can I find that info?

Thanks,
Regrie
