Hi-

Is it common for these things to wear out after about 6 months? I replaced the entire front end on my 97 960 about 6 mo. ago, and these things already have the boots cracked and are causing rattling noises...not expensive to replace, but ought to last more than 6 mo, in my opinion..

Thats odd, they should last years. I just replaced mine as well a few months ago. When you installed them, you didn't tear the boots by chance did you? There's no much clearance there to get a wrench on the flats to hold them in place while you're tightening them down. If not, I'd contact whomever you purchased them from about replacing them under warranty.

I have front end noise but I think my front struts are shot. Maybe you have an alignment problem or something causing more stress on them

Bought this set off eBay, so probably no recourse on these. But the new ones coming are from FCP Groton, with a lifetime warranty.

Alignment is good, it was done after the full front end replacement....
